Brother does a great job of providing current software drivers for both Mac and Windows.
0This printer was purchased to do high-quality serialized bar-code labels for a startup business, from a Mac OSX platform. Printing on the matte silver tape renders some incredibly high quality results, and makes for professionally produced barcode labels at very low cost, with no need to go out to a specialty manufacturer. The printer can be equipped with a laser barcode scanner to initiate printing in sequence, re-printing the scanned code into a specific format, or even database prints, which means you can easily output barcodes on order sheets from any software, scan that barcode, and have the printer produce product-formatted labels to be applied to your products. Overall, a great purchase.

I've been using this label maker in my calibration lab for about 5 months now. I average one cartridge per week or so. I always have to switch between 1/2" and 1" tapes, and the clamshell design makes it effortless to do so. It has also been a very reliable label maker so far.
0If you print in high volume or a large quantity of labels at one time and want much better speed, get the HGe tape rather than the TZe tape. Yes, the HGe is more expensive, but it prints over 3x faster (for white label w/ black lettering) and has a stronger adhesive (the TZe tape's adhesive is rather robust, though).

Thsi printer is a little jewell. The Mac OS software is a little clumpy, but once you get your hands around it, it should do the work. Attention: use vectors rather than JPGs or TIFFs. I noticed images don't print very well. But vectors come out excellent. Also, the resolution is above of what I expected. So overall, this is an amazing product. The only downside is that is a little pricey... Perhaps you don't need the Ethernet interface, as that's what drives the price up. But overall, this is a keeper!!
